Průhonice Chateau and Chateau Park
Průhonice Chateau as we know it today is the result of several stages of conversion of what was originally a medieval Gothic castle built on a rocky promontory over the Botič stream. Průhonice Park joins onto the chateau and has been declared a National Cultural Monument and UNESCO World Heritage Site. Průhonice Park is regarded as a supreme work of landscaping of global importance thanks to its combination of domestic tree species and imported foreign tree species. Areas of woodland vegetation, grounds of trees and bushes alternate with meadow areas, fishponds, streams and their blind branches The variability of tree species during different seasons are skilfully used.
